Paper Trail now offers free training to victims and survivors of the conflict Ireland/Great Britain online via Zoom.
Due to the global pandemic, Paper Trail is happy to offer Zoom training sessions for families and small groups as well to facilitate discussion and make people feel more comfortable. All sessions are free to victims and survivors of the conflict in Ireland/Great Britain.
Each session will run for 45 minutes to 1 hour and we can carry on the discussion if you wish.
These 3 sessions complement each other for family campaigns and research so we advise participants to consider all 3 together.
- 1. Introduction to Archives: learn about the archives in your area, some of which you may walk past every day and yet they are open to all of us. Examine documents and learn what to look for. Hear how you can use Freedom of Information to work for you.
- 2. Oral History Training: learn best practice when interviewing and recording friends and family for your research
- 3. Workshop: discuss family reports and campaigns, and what archives could help your work
Normally we also incorporate a trip to Public Records Office Northern Ireland but this has been discontinued due to concerns for COVID-19.
Training free to victims and survivors of the conflict thanks to funding from the European Union’s PEACE IV Programme which is managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB) and Victims and Survivors Service.
If you would like to attend our next free course or just want further information, email Ciarán firstname.lastname@example.org.
Paper Trail can also offer bespoke training and times day/night for groups and family campaigns across Ireland and Britain.
